Flowers of Samoa

I went to Samoa, a south pacific tropical country, in mid-January. My intention was to have fun and to relax, both of which I did very well. But while I was there, there were so many beautiful colorful flowers which caught my eye, I just couldn’t resist taking some photos of them. Check them out! I’ve tried to identify as many as I could, but for the plants I don’t know, feel free to tell me if you know.

Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis).
Red hibiscus.
Yellow hibiscus.
Golden Trumpet (Allamanda cathartica).
Teuila (Alpinia purpurata). This is the national plant of Samoa.
False Bird of Paradise (Heliconia).

This tree is pretty gnarly.
Breadfruit tree (Artocarpus altilis). Yeah I know this doesn’t count, but look at it! I actually ate some breadfruit once while I was there, I wasn’t a fan of the taste though.

Anyways I hope you all enjoyed, perhaps I’ll take up botany as a hobby one day, who knows?
